Weekend for the win

I took a cake decorating class this morning and met someone who was on an, as of yet unaired, episode of Jeopardy. I really wanted to grill her about how well she did but I refrained. Still, we chatted about her experience and it sounded like she had an amazing time on the show and that it was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Let the record show that I am squarely in favor of people having their childhood dreams come true.

In terms of the actual cake decorating part, my cake turned out okay. I really thought that I would have a natural talent for it and that turned out not to be the case.

Writing notes:

I didn’t get a huge amount done. I did turn in twenty pages (okay, 21.5 pages) in for workshopping so it is nice to be done with that for the time being. I don’t think that the voices are distinct enough and it may be too phone call heavy but I’m just going to wait and see what the feedback is like. I also did some work on another piece-I reworked one scene and I think that helped. Still, I seem to be much better at finding more issues to add to the list than actually dealing with those issues.

Reading notes: Still working on Life After Life. Slightly mixed feelings. We will see. I keep on buying more books from the Kindle Daily Deal promotions so I’m having a hard time sticking with it and not going off and sampling a bunch of other new titles.
